Kosovo demands rule of law in its north
july 27 - Hajredin Kuci, Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, today has confirmed the reports by Koha Ditore on the reforms in local government facing a blockade a few months after the first phase of the decentralization process.
Citing unnamed sources involved in the decentralization process, Koha Ditore reported that the Government of Kosovo, backed by powerful Western allies, has warned EULEX that further implementation of decentralization in Serb-inhabited areas can be done only when the rule of law is restored is there.
The International Civilian Office (ICO) denies that the process is facing a blockade, while the Ministry for Local Government hopes that things will get better.
Deputy Prime Minister Kuci told reporters today that the Government of Kosovo will not endorse any project which might undermine the sovereignty of Kosovo.
